I've loved South American music forever, bossa, reggaeton, Latin pop. But until now it was always background music without understanding. DopaSpeak changed that.
What made the difference for me: word-by-word decoding. Suddenly I see not just the translation, but understand the structure. Why is it "te quiero" and not "yo te quiero"? When does the verb go where? It makes sense, piece by piece.
After 4 weeks I can have simple conversations with my brother-in-law (he's Argentinian). I never thought that would happen after years of school Spanish. And the best: I learn with music that makes me happy anyway.

We're going to Andalusia for 3 weeks this summer. I wanted to be able to say more than "Una cerveza, por favor". Until now I never had time for Spanish, job, family, commute.
DopaSpeak fits into my commute. 30 minutes on the morning bus, with decoded Spanish songs. After 4 weeks I understand simple sentences, can navigate restaurants, hold small talk. Enough for a relaxed vacation.
Nice touch: the app set itself to Castilian Spanish because we're going to Andalusia. The "vosotros" and the lisped "c" are in there, no LATAM mix.

I'm primarily learning English. But as a Latin music lover I wanted to understand what the artists were singing on the side. The word-by-word method works in Spanish too, even with fast reggaeton.
What surprised me: Spanish is much more logical than I thought. Sure, lots of conjugations, but the sentence structure is more regular than English. A few weeks in I had built up Spanish vocabulary passively, without ever actively drilling it.
With my one Lifetime license I learn both languages in parallel. That's what makes DopaSpeak special.
